If you have existing CourseSmart ebooks, you will continue to have access to your CourseSmart account using the same user name and password until late December. At that time, your CourseSmart account will migrate to VitalSource where you will be able to access all active titles through VitalSource. You will receive advance email communications about this migration.
Why can I no longer search on CourseSmart.com for titles?

Can I still create an account on CourseSmart?
CourseSmart is no longer accepting new account registrations. Please go to the new VitalSource web site to create an account and purchase eTextbooks. Click here https://www.vitalsource.com/sign_up create an account.
Can I rent any new titles on my CourseSmart account?
No. All new digital rentals will now be made on the VitalSource website. To rent an eTexbook, please go directly to the VitalSource store at https://www.vitalsource.com/student-etextbooks. You will need to make an account at VitalSource.com to purchase titles.
What is happening with my CourseSmart account?
Your CourseSmart account will be migrated in late December. For now, you will still access your active, non-expired CourseSmart books at CourseSmart.com
May I get my CourseSmart account merged over now?
No. Migrations will occur in late December and you will be notified before the migrations begin.
Do I need to take any action before the migration?
No, you do not need to take any action and you will be informed prior to the migration. After the migration, you will log into your VitalSource account using the same username and password you use for your CourseSmart account. All of your active (non-expired) titles will be available on your VitalSource account.
I have finals in December. During migration, will I lose access to my titles at any time?
The process of migrating your CourseSmart account will occur in late December (after the Christmas holiday and before the end of the year) when traffic is at its lightest. We are anticipating a seamless, efficient migration process with minimal downtime. You will be informed in advance of the change and when the migration is complete.
Do I need to check back in my titles prior to account migration?
If you've made any notes and highlights in your book, it's a good idea to check in your books prior to the migration to make sure those notes and highlights sync in your account.
Post migration, you will no longer check out books using a web browser for offline access. VitalSource has downloadable applications for both computer and mobile.
Will my notes and highlights transfer to my new VitalSource account?
Yes, all your notes and highlights will migrate with your books.
I already have a VitalSource account. Will all my books be available on the same account?
If you used the same email address for your VitalSource account as your CourseSmart account, then all your active titles will be available on your VitalSource account after migration.
I have a redemption code that I have not redeemed on my CourseSmart account. How can I use my code?
Please contact VitalSource Customer Support for help with redeeming unused, valid redemption codes.
What will be different on my VitalSource account?
Besides a different look and feel, there are some differences in the VitalSource Bookshelf and reader features. For instance, to read your books offline you will use the VitalSource Bookshelf apps, which you can use on 2 computers and 2 mobile devices, as well as online using your browser.
